Mann im Schreibersitz

Diese unbeschriftete Statue entspricht dem Typ der Schreiberstatue, allerdings fehlen sowohl die Papyrusrolle auf dem Schoß des Mannes als auch die Schreibbinse in seiner Hand. Es ist dies eine Variante der sogenannten Schreiberfigur: der Mann sitzt in der Art des Schreibers mit untergeschlagenen Beinen, hat jedoch keine Papyrusrolle auf dem Schoß. Da die Beherrschung der Schrift in großem Ansehen stand, ließen sich auch hochrangige Würdenträger schreibend oder lesend darstellen.
