22. Dynastie, Zeit Osorkons I., 910-896 v. Chr., Unterägypten, Gebiet von Herakleopolis bis Bubastis (vermutlich)
Der Sphinx zeigt König Osorkon I., den Sohn des Gründers der 22. Dynastie, die ihre Residenz nach Bubastis im Nildelta verlegte. Das Gesicht des Königs, der das Nemes-Kopftuch mit Uräus-Schlange und den Königsbart trägt, ist nicht porträthaft gestaltet, sondern idealisiert wiedergegeben. Die Kartusche mit dem Namen des Königs ist insgesamt siebenmal an verschiedenen Stellen des Löwenkörpers angebracht.
