Kopfstützen waren in Ägypten Gebrauchsgegenstände, um beim Ruhen die Frisur zu schonen. Im Grab wurden sie als Stütze des Kopfes der Mumie im Sarg verwendet. Auf das halbmondförmige Auflager wurde ein Polster gelegt, wie auf zahlreichen Darstellungen und bei Amuletten in Form einer Kopfstütze zu erkennen ist.
