Infos zur Führung

Über Jahrtausende, bis zur Entdeckung neuer Lichtquellen im 19. Jh., konnten die Menschen lediglich mit Hilfe von Kienspan, Fackel, Öllampe und Kerze die Dunkelheit erhellen. Das Kunsthistorische Museum selbst blieb sogar bis in dieses Jahrtausend teilweise ein Tageslichtmuseum. Mittlerweile leuchten 51 „Starbrick“-Luster des Künstlers Ólafur Elíasson mit LEDs von der Decke der Kunstkammer. Ein Schlaglicht werfen wir in der Führung auch auf repräsentative Stücke aus der Antike bis zur Neuzeit und beleuchten symbolträchtige Darstellungen von Lichtspendern, die für die Bilddeutung ausschlaggebend sind.
