Wedding Train of Empress Elisabeth
At her wedding on 24 April 1854 Sisi wore a white silk dress with rich embroidery in gold and silver as well as a long, gold-embroidered “court train”, which was worn over the dress as an independent element. This train was kept by Sisi’s favourite daughter, Archduchess Marie Valerie, as a special memento. In 1989 it was purchased by the Department of Court Uniforms from the archduchess’s descendants.
