Die Sturmhaube Ferdinands II. ist vor allem ein Objekt der Phantastik. Der Sonnenschirm dieses Helmes ist als grotesker Wolfskopf gebildet, der in einen am Kamm liegenden, lauernden Drachen übergeht. Die Helmglocke wird von getriebenen, von Delphinen gezogenen und von Putti gelenkten, Triumphwagen eingenommen, auf denen Neptun bzw. Amphitrite übers Meer segeln. Auf den Wangenklappen und dem Nackenschirm tummeln sich kämpfende und ins Horn blasende Tritonen.
