Head of an old man

Despite the damaged state of this fragment which amounts only to the face and neck, the evident high quality makes the head one of the most important sculptures of the Late Period, down to and including Ptolemaic times. It is not a portrait; although the facial features look realistic, it is an idealizing likeness of an aging non-royal person.
