Money from China
From cowries to the famous knife- and spade-coins to the first round coins to the invention of paper money, the history of money in China is full of fascinating surprises. The exhibition offers a survey of this impressive development and leads the visitor though the centuries from 2000 B.C. unti the present day. The exhibits come from the China Numismatic Museum of the People´s Bank of China and are on show outside the People´s Republic of China for the first time.
