Griechisch, Böotisch, Tanagra, um 300 v. Chr.
Die in ein langes Gewand gekleidete alte Frau hält einen Säugling in den Armen. Die griechische Terrakotta wurde in einer zweiteiligen Form hergestellt und nach dem Brand bemalt. Reste des weißen Überzuges und roter Farbe sind noch zu erkennen. Terrakotten wie diese wurden im frühen Hellenismus in großer Zahl vor allem in Böotien hergestellt. Zentrum war Tanagra, nach dem die Statuetten auch die Bezeichnung "Tanagräerinnen" erhalten haben.
