Statue of a man sitting cross-legged

The sculpture is a variant of the so-called scribe statue type: the man sits cross-legged on the ground like a scribe, but he does not hold a roll of papyrus on his lap. High-ranking officials had themselves depicted reading and writing because literacy was very esteemed.
